Revision Of The Eligibility Requirements For Unit Trust Consultant (UTC)

This is with reference to FIMM circular dated 11 October 2011 pertaining to the above matter.
Pleased be informed that with effect from 1 January 2012, all candidates who wish to apply to
sit for the Computerised Unit Trust Examination (CUTE) are required to fulfill the following
requirements :-

(A) Candidates Academic Qualification
Candidates who register their CUTE with Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) certificate, must
obtain credits either in Bahasa Malaysia, English or Mandarin AND Mathematics. Candidate
must possess a minimum Grade 3 in SPM or its equivalent.

(B) Passing Mark for Computerised Unit Trust Examination (CUTE)
The passing mark is raised from sixty percent (60%) to seventy five percent (75%). This is
to enhance the competency and knowledge of UTCs.

(C) Requirement to re-sit CUTE for UTC who has left the industry for more than 3 years
UTCs who have left the industry for more than 3 years are required to apply to sit and pass the
CUTE with FIMM before they are allowed to register as UTCs. This is to ensure the
competency and knowledge of the UTCs are adequate before they re-enter the industry.
